Massage can be an effective approach to restoring our body’s physical balance and encourage natural healing.

 

I use a combination of Swedish and Non-Swedish massage techniques to reduce muscle spasms, increase blood flow/circulation, and ease painful muscles.

 

This combination of techniques has helped my clients in a myriad of ways.

Craniosacral Therapy

Returns the Body's Deepest Living Layer to a More Robust Rhythm

Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a non-invasive method using gentle manipulation of the bones of the head, spine and pelvis.

 

This modality works by gently releasing fascial restrictions, decompressing cranial bones and joints, and reinvigorating the natural ebb and flow of the cranial sacral rhythm. When this system is operating at its fullest capacity, the body has a chance to reset, and heal naturally.

 

CST uses a combination of cranial and diaphragm releases, unwinding and energy release techniques to bring the body back to harmony and vitality. 

 

I love using this technique because of its ability to bring my clients into a deep state of relaxation and stillness. There is a hypnotic quality to this kind of work and the benefits are multi-faceted.

Reiki

Where the Mind, Body and Spirit Come Together to Heal

Reiki is a relaxing, nurturing therapy using gentle touch to help balance the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health of your body.

 

It helps with healing on a ‘different level’ when massage alone is not enough.

​

For example, if the cause of a physical issue is stemming from something mental or emotional, reiki is able to hone in on the disruption and clear it.  When the build up of emotional charge or mental/spiritual disharmony is cleared, the body is able to manifest a healthier version of itself and let go of its need to speak in symptoms.

 

It can be said that all dis-ease and dysfunction starts in the spirit and if not tended to, works its way down into the other denser energy bodies.  The spirit knocks lightly, but when we ignore its calls, it will find a way to talk to us, through our emotions, through our thoughts and eventually through dis-ease.

​

The way in which I perform reiki is hands on, with loads of love and attention to all the body's signals and specific ways of communicating. I work from the heart and act as a channel for Universal Source energy to work through me, and into you, my client.

​

  • An integration of the subconscious mind with the conscious mind to alleviate mental, emotional, and/or physical pain, due to trauma of any nature

Myofascial Release

Good for Removing Adhesions and Internal Scar Tissue

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a very specific, targeted technique I use for fascial restrictions of the soft tissue.

 

Fascia is a thin casing of connective tissue that surrounds and holds every organ, blood vessel, bone, nerve fibre and muscle in place. It's like a form fitting sweater for the entire bodily structure.

 

After a traumatic event like a car accident, bad fall or surgery, and even after infections, inflammation, or radiation therapy, the body forms adhesions (scars that form on the inside of the body).

 

These 'internal scars' act like a powerful straight jacket on the fascial sweater, pulling this delicate web out of alignment and into long lasting dysfunction. It also forces an unbearable amount of pain on the body and subsequently on the mind of my clients. 

​

I work patiently and methodically to break up these powerful cross-links or restrictions in the fascia, so that my clients' mind-body can return to a more harmonious, vital and free state of being.

​

Some of the benefits include but are not limited to:

​

  • Increased range of motion after hip, shoulder or back surgery

  • Reduction and/or elimination of pain

  • Restoration of tissue elasticity and physical symmetry

  • Harmonious functioning of muscles, bones, joints, nerves and blood flow

  • Removal of deep scar tissue that can cause infertility, bowel obstructions, migraines, carpel tunnel

  • Removal of scar tissue after major surgeries like abortions, c-sections, complete or partial removal of organs, hysterectomies, gastric bypass surgeries

  • Helps break up adhesions from endometriosis thus reducing significant pain and dysfunction among organs

  • Brings a sense of well being and up-levels confidence, vitality and performance in all aspects of life
